Here we go

Hello! Welcome to my blog. I feel a bit of an idiot doing this, as I am not sure why the world needs another blog, and do people actually have the time to read these? Oh well, here goes.....

Our family has been farming Lincoln Red cattle in Lincolnshire for over 100 years. We own around 100 Lincoln red cows that are primarily grass fed and only housed when they come in for calving in the winter. They are a rare breed that we enjoy exhibiting at shows, I will talk about them more in the next post.  We also run 220 cross bred ewes and grow cereals and sugarbeet.

We sell the delicious beef and lamb we produce directly to the public, butchers and restaurants. Get in touch if you are interested, I do it regularly but not on a large scale.

Our farming aims are guided by a desire to leave our farmed environment in better in a better condition than we inherited when we finish. A good example has been set by Martins parents who we still work with. If I get enthusiastic I might write a post on that subject.

The main purpose of this blog is to raise the profile of our Lincoln red cattle and the amazing beef they produce. I would also like to make contact with more friendly locals who would are interested in sourcing their beef and lamb directly from the farmer. You can't get better traceability than that.
