About the Beverley Herd

The Clough family have had Lincoln Red cattle on the farm at Halton Holegate in Lincolnshire for over 100 years.  It is currently being run by father and son team Ivan and Martin Clough.

They started showing the cattle in 1995, and have learnt a great deal in the last 25 years.  Martin started by competing in the YFC Heifer competition. Helen, Martin's sister won this competition a few years later. Martin now helps the new generations of young farmers by taking a few students each year for the competition. One of whom, Lizzie, (Me) went on to become his wife!

Our showing achievements culminated in 2012 when a young bull that we bred and produced, Beverley Noble, stood supreme champion at the Lincoln Red Cattle Society show and sale. That day he went on to be sold for a breed record price of 18,000gns, a record that is still yet to be beaten.

In 2019 I started selling our beef and lamb directly to the public. It is only a small thing, but I loves connecting people with the food we grow in their local landscape. The beef and lamb boxes have received fantastic reviews from our customers. It makes us so happy to know that you really can taste the difference. We have championed the Lincoln red breed of cattle for many years, and introducing more people to the fantastic flavor and texture of their beef is a joy.
